I love making things. That is a very real part of why I do this work. It is also why I have had to become more thoughtful about the structure that supports it.
A photograph can look effortless. The work around it usually is not. There are conversations, choices, preparation, production and editing. There is the time spent learning how to see the thing that needs attention before the moment disappears.
When you ask about working with I Am Gold Media, I want you to understand what you are choosing. A proposal should help you make a clear decision, not leave you trying to decode a list of creative terms.
Begin with what the project needs
A personal portrait, a wedding and a campaign are different kinds of work. Even when the final result is a photograph, the planning and responsibilities can look very different.
Tell me the purpose, the timing, the people involved and where the work will be used. If you have a budget range, sharing it helps us discuss a realistic scope. We can talk about what deserves priority instead of building a proposal around assumptions.
Look at the work before and after the shoot
Depending on the project, preparation may include developing a concept, reviewing references, choosing locations, coordinating people or planning a shot list. Editing and delivery happen afterward.
A short session can still need substantial attention outside the time spent photographing. Film brings its own needs, including sound, footage selection and the shape of the edit. Ask what is included so you understand the whole process.
Be specific about usage
Where will the photographs or film appear? Your personal page? A business website? A paid campaign? Printed materials?
These uses should be discussed before the work is made. The agreement can explain the permissions and any limits that apply to your project. If your plans change later, ask before assuming the same arrangement covers every new use.
A reference is a conversation starter
You can absolutely send work you admire. Tell me what draws you to it: the light, the composition, the feeling, the styling.
Then we can work out what makes sense for your project. Recreating the conditions of a large production may require a different scope from a simple portrait session. Sometimes a small, thoughtful idea carries more presence than trying to fit every reference into one day.
Choose a collaboration you can trust
Look at how the work feels across a collection, not only one image. Read the offering. Ask about the process, the deliverables and what happens if a plan needs to change.
I also write about creative value and reciprocity in Already Gold. That is a personal conversation there; here, the practical part is making sure we understand what we are agreeing to create together.
You do not need to arrive fluent in creative production. Bring your questions. My job includes helping you find a direction and a scope that make sense for the work.
If you are comparing photography, film or creative direction options, explore the offerings and send me the project you are considering. We can start with what you actually need.

With love,
Shadaye · I Am Gold Media
