I have always been drawn to the connection between art, identity, and healing.
I have always been drawn to the connection between art, identity, and the way creativity can help us return to ourselves. I studied psychology and spatial art at San Jose State University, with the intention of continuing into holistic and art therapy. When the pandemic shifted that path, my creativity became more personal and inward. I studied herbalism, learned the plants and trees around me, and continued exploring how art, nature, and making with our hands can create space for reflection and connection. Teaching ceramics deepened that understanding. I saw how the creative process could help people slow down, trust themselves, and express something they did not always have words for.
At the same time, I was supporting myself and my infant son by serving tables, baking cookies, and taking on whatever work I could. I was grateful to provide for us, but I knew I wanted to build a life centered on art, beauty, and meaningful work.
In 2023, I picked up a camera again while filming a friend perform at Lightning in a Bottle. Something clicked. I remembered how much I loved capturing movement, emotion, and the energy of a moment. Photography and filmmaking brought together so much of what had shaped me: art, psychology, nature, storytelling, teaching, and human connection. In 2024, I committed fully to that path, and IMG Media began.
